The Cook Strait Gable.

(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION). Wellington, January, 25. Captain Kennedy has been appointed to take charge of the cable steamer Terranora, which leaves for Cook Strait shortly to repair the broken cable. Captain Grey, of H. M. Customs, who has taken part in all the cable repairing operations of late years, will also be on board. Mr Logan, Chief Inspector of Telegraphs, will superintend the operations, and will be assisted by Mr W. C. Smythe, electrician. The Terranora comes off the patent slip to-morrow morning and will be ready for sea on Tuesday next.
