(I'EB PUESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, January 25. The New Zealand Trade Review shows that the imports to the North Island last year were valued at 1*3,236,578, while in 1892 they were 1*3, 411,547. The imports to the South Island were valued at 1*3,223,169, and in 1892 they were £3,805,096. The exports from the North Island in 1893 were of the value of 13,784,554, while in 1892 they were 1*4,393,558, and in 1891 1*4,256,539. From the South Island the value was £4,938,136 while in 1892 it wns 1*5,094,495, and in 1891 1*5,299,228- There wns thus an apparent decrease last year .'as compared with the year before of 1*764,000, no less than 1624,000 being in the North Island exports. These figures are exclusive of specie and goods by parcels post The j export of beef from the North Island has been nearly fivo million pounds weight less than in the previous year, having fallen from 5,908,1141bs in 1892 to 922,8161bs in 1893. The export of hemp from the North Island was also much less than iv 1892.
