Cricket News.
A meeting of the Manawatu-Rangitikei Cricket Association was held in Feilding last evening. Present — Messrs Crump (Palmerstori, in the chair), Broughton (Saudon), Tompkins (Halcornbe), Reade (Birmingham), Bishop (Carnarvon), E. A. Tompkins (Martou), Baillie (Feilding), and Burlace, treasurer. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The secretary was instructed to endeavour to arrange for a tour with a representative team at Easter. Consideration of notice re cup was held over till next meeting. It was decided that Messrs Baillie, Reade, and Burlace be a reception committee for the Paliiatua match on the 9th February. It was resolved tha.t, subject to Mr Lethbridge's consent, a charge of tkl for admisssion be made on the day of the match. A Cup match will be played on Saturday next between Feilding and Palmerston", on the ground of the latter club. The Feilding team will consist of the following: — Messrs Reade, Hill, Burlace, Richards, Bailie, Levett, Parr, Halcombe, Innes-Jones, Eade, and Henderson. Emergencies— Foster and Belfit. # On February 9th an Association Representative team will play Pahiatua, on the Feilding ground. The Rep. team will be as follows : — Messrs Lance, J. Entwistle, Isherwood, Cooke, Stinson, Wilson, Broughton, Hodder, Smith, Barlow, and Hunter, Emergencies — Cohen and Bailie. A match will be played on the local ground on Wednesday afternoon next, between the Representative team and the following eighteen, viz. — Messrs Parr, Bailie, Richards, Tompkins, Selby, Hathaway, Penny, Bowater, Millau, Reade, Burlace, Eyro (2), Hill, Crump, Matheson, Jewel, Merlet, and Bishop.
