Washed up from the Sea

SINGULAR DISCOVERY. (PEB PHESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, January 23. News from Waiwera states that wreckage has been washed ashore at Orewa Beach, consisting of cabin fittings polished bat peg, a small box bearing the word " Noumeit " written in blue pencil, " M.C., " Commander, Scorff ; also butcher's basket, evidently lately used ; an empty box, and a piece or two of rough scantling. At Waiwera au empty box, which hail contained .Swiss milk, a piece or two of rough scantling and some small pieces of boards came ashore this morniug. The box has " E.8.F., Noumea " and "12E, 29 " printed on it. The French warship Scorff left for Duuediu on Friday last. We have had no news of bad weather on the coast since, anil the stuff washed ashore may have been thrown overboard.
