. «, w Messrs Murray, Eoberts and Co. report: —We are to-day iv receipt of the follow* ing cable message our London friends,* Messrs Sanderson, Murray and Co.. re* garchng the wool sales:—London, 16th January.—The sales have opened with a good attendance of buyers. For merino the market shows no change* but coin* petition is weak. For crossbred the market is firm. The following cablegram from London has been ieceiyedby_theNew Zealand Land Association :—Woolc-The sales opened this day at level of iasi-eales. The attendance of both Home and for»"~>eign buyers is normal, and competition fairly active. The total quantity avail, able, including held over from last sales, is 348,000 bales, 88,000 bales of which have been forwarded to the manufacturing districts direct. Wheat—Market is quiet and quotations are unchanged since last telegram.
