Birmingham Notes.

«. On Sunday evening last the Rev Mr Birks announced in the Wesleyan church that he was going to leave this district about the end of March, and that he hoped to occupy the pulpit in the Birmingham church every Sunday up to that time. A quarterly meeting of the Birmingham Wesleyan Church circuit was held last evening. The president of the conference, the | Rev Mr Keall {occupied the chair and the usual routine business was dealt with. The Wesleyan Sunday School anniversary and picnic on the 21st and 24th instants promise to be a success. The scholars have been rehearsing hymns for the past three months for the former and solos will be given by the Messrs Little, Richardson, and Buckman. After the picnic a concert will be held in the Church, when Mrs Kitchen, the Misses M. Lowes, Richardson, Buckman, Little and Carter, and Messrs J. F. Stevens, B. Moss, Downey, and A.JEade will take part. On Sunday prizes will be distributed amongst the Sunday School scholars and the new library will be opened by the Rev Mr Watkin, of Sandon. A meeting will be held in the Birmingham Town Hall on Saturday evening at 7.40 to consider the advisability of starting a creamery in that locality in connection with the Cheltenham butter factory. A cricket match will be held at Pemberton on Saturday between the Birmingham club and a team from that place. __^^^_^_____
