Death of the Jockey Watson.
(PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.) Mabton, This Day. The jockey, C. Watson, who was injured in the hurdle race at Bulls on January 2, died at Bulls at 6.30 this morning. Until Sunday he was making satisfactory progress, but a change for the worse took place, brought on, it is thought, by the heat, and he gradually sank. Deceased was 25 years of age, and his parents, it is understood, live at Upper Ricearton, nearChristcburch. | The funeral leaves Awahuri tomorrow. |
