The Manawatu Amateur Athletic Club has received la,r»e nominations for their sports on Monday next, which will be hekl on the Palrne.rston Showground. Among the entries appears the name of J. H. Hemptoti. The Napier Caledonian Sports take place on the 2ft th. The only representative from this district is I. Watts, who is treated fairly well. His handicaps are: 100yds, 7yds; 220yds, 12yds; 440 yds, 21yds. Intending visitors need scarcely be reminded of the Birmingham Sports on Thursday. The handicaps appear to have been favorably received by local competitors, and a number of outsiders have arrived in town, therefore it is safe to predict that all the cveuts will be well contested. The handicaps for the Wanganui Caledonian Sports on the 22nd were published yesterday. In the 100yds A. W. Watts receives Byds, I. Watts 7yds, and A. Richards Byds. A. W. Watts is scratch in 220, and has Byds in the 440 ; I. Watts has 11yds in the 220, and 12 in the 440 ; F. Fanthorpe receives 17yds in the 440, 25 in half-mile, and 55 in the mile. In the 120yds Hurdles A. W. Watts owes 10yds.
