Messrs Nolan, Tonks and Co. report ; — On the s tli hist, we held a special clearing salo of dairy stock for Mr S. A. Breach, at Opunake. The cows were all young, and mostly on their first calf, and brought an average of £5 14s each ; springing heifers, £5 10s ; porkers, 20s. 6d to 24s 6d ; sqws, with Jitter, £2 to i# 17s 6d. Our usual Opunake sale was held on 9th inst. There was a good entry, prices being somewhat lower, but sales were made. At Manaia, on 11th, not many stock came forward. Bidding was slack, con? f sequently a few lines had to go hpme unsold. We quote — Weaners, 35s to 40s ; yearlings to 18>month mixed stores, 57s to 595 ; 18-month to 2-years, 61s to 68s ; 18-month to 2-year heifers, 54s to 575 ; 2to 24-year steers, 71s to 755; 21---year dairy heifers, 67s to 70s ; springers, £4 15s to £5 ; dairy cows, at profit, £9 to £6. ~" '"-«-- - — .
