Purves had bean at Wilson's River diggings, going by the name of Ferguson. He called at the police station here to complain that he bad lost £10 in a hotel at the diggings. After some conversation, Sergeant McDonnell felt pretty certain that Ferguson really was the man wanted at Rangiora, and telegraphed for a full description, which tallied with Ferguson's appearance, and he was arre-trd.
