Stock Markets.

Messrs Abraham <k Williams report : — At Palmerston yesterday we had a full muster of cattle. Beef was dull of sale, a portion only changed hands. With this exception all other sorts found purchasers either at or after the auction at prices much on a par with recent rates. Taken altogether, bidding was somewhat easier. Sheep came forward in moderate supply. There was an active enquiry for young sheep and suitable wethers, others dull of sale. The whole entry, however, was disposed of. Cattle— Medium fat bullocks, £6 5s ; cows, £i 18s 6d to £5 ; 2 to 2£year old steers, £1 to £i 7s 6d ; 18---month do., £3 2s 6d to £3 7s ; 3-year old steers, £1 10s ; cows in calf, £4 to £4 10s ; weaners, 30s. Sheep — Ewes and lambs, all counted os to 5s 7d ; ewes, mixed ages, 8s 6d ; 2-tooth wethers, 9s ; 2-tooths, mixed, 8s 4d to 8s 7d ; 4-tooth wethers, 9s 6d. Mr Matthew Henry reports for yesterday's sale :— A fair entry of both sheep and cattle came forward, numbers being quite equal to the demand. Young stock of both classes were the only lines marketable; and a good many lines changed hands at the following quotations : — Cattle — 2-year steers, £4 ss; 18-rnonths steers, £3 14s; weaners, 28s; dairy cows, £4 7s to £5 15s. Sheep — 2-tooth wethers, 8s 7d.
