The Unionist Party in the House of Commons agree to assist the Government in passing the Parish Councils Bill on the 19th instant, on the Government agreeing to modify the constitution of the Board of Guardians and limiting the powers of the Parish Councils in hiring land for allotments to one acre of avablelaud and three of pastoral to each applicant, and otherwise protecting the owners against injustice. Tlie Radical and some of the Conservative Party are much incensed at the action of the Unionists, but terms of compromise will probably be observed by tlie majority both in the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
