New Year's Day.

The chief attractions for holidaymakers on New Year's Day will be the Caledonian Sports at Palmerston and the Bulls Races. A large nuin-' ber generally visit the annual meeting at Bulls, and as the gathering on this occasion promises to be an exceptionally successful one no doubt the greater numbor of Feilding people will spend the day there. However, there are many who will travel to Palmerston to be present at the sports. The Salvation Army intend holding a picnic in Feilding, which is sure to be well attended, There are many who will spend their holiday in a quiet way enjoyiug themselves in the shades of the adjacent bush, or on the banks of some of our many streams at picnic parties where troutfishing and other amusements may be indulged in.
