Wellington Land Board.

The regular meeting of the above was held yesterday. Present -The Commissioner (in the chair), and Messrs W. A. Fitzherbert, T. W. Fisher, A, W. Hogg, and Fred. Pirani, M.H.R.'s. The following applications to capitalise were approved :— J P Larsen, section 99, Block 11, Kopuaranga, J. Matthews, section 99, Block V, Kopuaranga; J. Clulow, section 14, Block VIII, Mangaone, E Mac Donald, section 18, Block I, Puketoi. The following applications to obtain titles were approved:— H Bilderbeck, section 35, Block XI, Apiti, J. Thomson, section 48, Block IX, Mangaone, J Romstead, section 209, Block XII, Maugaone, L P Larsen, section 90, Block 11, Kopnaranga, G A Christensen, section 25, Block VII, Mangaone, F T O'Neill, section 83, Block 11, Waiopehna, E Elgan, section 8, Block V, Waipoua. The following applications to obtain titles were not approved : — H P and C H Clare, section 43, Block XI, Ongo, J T Saxelly, section 12, Block XVI, Ongo; The following application to convert small grazing run was granted: — To lease in perpetuity, E N Pembertou, Apiti. It was decided to consider Mr Gladman Smith's application for the rescinding of the forfeiture of section 45, Block XI, Ongo, for non-compliance with improvement conditions at next meeting if the required area is felled by that time. It was decided to grant Mr Toruquist's application for title for section 1, Block IV, Mikimiki, as soon as 80 acres are in grass. The following applications for land were granted : — Edith Hammond, Block XHI, Hautapu, James "Walason, Block IV, Waioliine, P G Clark, Block IX, Tararua, A McNaughton and R C Brown, Block Vni, Apiti. W Thim's application for title for section 1480, Bunnythorpe, was granted. An application from Messrs Klein and Johnson to exchange sections in a special settlement at Mt. Cerberus was refused as the Board had not power to grant the request. It was decided to offer section 15, Block 111, Kopuaranga, by auction as land of special value, and to offer limestone reserve section 69, Block VIII, Makuri, for lease for ten years. Mr J Fowler was granted leave of residence on cash section, adjoining deferred payment section at Bunnythorpe. Mr Brebner was allowed six months' extension of time to complete improve-' mcnts on section 30, Block X, Pohaugina. Considerable discussion arose on the question of allowing special settlers, who disapproved of sections drawn, to surrender and eventually the matter was deferred to next meeting.—Standard.
