Fatal Boat Accident.

(per press association). Auckland) December 28. Wm. Maxwell, a gumdigger, was drowned at Kaipara. He was knocked overboard by the boom. His mate Eufc the boat about, but failed to save im. Eight bottles and two flasks of spirits were on the boat. One bottle was found empty. The survivor, named Jackson, a gumdigger, says Maxwell was capable of managing the boat though he bad taken some liquor. Deceasod was a native of Edinborugb, and has no relatives in the colony. The body has not been recovered.
