(Conclusion of Report). EESO-OTIONS. Proposed by Mr" Homer, seconded by Mr Morton, That the offer of MrSchlapskei be accepted — viz., to receive half payment now and the balance at the end of twelve months — Carried. Resolved, That Mr Reid be appointed to go to Wellington with deputation on Tuesday with reference to the Otara bridge. Mr Homer proposed, and Mr Morton seconded, That tenders be called for the work on the Branch road referred to by Mr W. W. Hedges as soon as the money is in hand from Pohangina Road Board. — Carried. - •'* Proposed by Mr Reid* seconded«by<Mr Jones, That the secretary write the Government that the names of ridings in the new Kiwitea County Council be same as the wards in the Kiwitea Road Board ; also, suggesting the day for first meeting of the Council be the third Saturday in February, 1894. That the name of Mr Goodbehere be submitted to act in preparing rolls, to preside at first meeting of the Council and also as Returning Officer — Carried. Resolved, That the following alterations be made on the rate roll in respect to the following sections .'—section 40, Block I, Apiti ; C. C. Nicholas to Mr Thompson ; section 2, Block 11, Block VHI, Ongo, R. and G. Pearson to A. M. Hockley ; H. D. Densham in place of V. A. Densham ; J. E. Flood in place of D. Parker; and Norman Gorton be added. Proposed by Mr Powell, seconded by Mr Jones, That the accrued thirds from the Ongo ward amounting to .£BOO be placed as a fixed deposit for twelve months— Carried. Resolved, That Mr Hammond be allowed to place two gates on the road as per his request, subject to the regulations of the Board. - Proposed by Mr Jones, seconded by Mr Morton, That the clerk forward a copy of the plans, specifications and estimates prepared for the Cheltenham Cross road bridge and the proportion of cost payable by each Board, to the Minister of Public Works and the Manchester Road Board — Carried. ■ ■ Resolved, That Mr T. A. Bryce's offer and cheque of two pounds be accepted for the grass seed on Bryce's road, to be credited to Kimbolton ward. Proposed by Mr Homer, seconded by' Mr Reid, That the Engineer be in* structed to give an estimate to form 14 feet wide and metal the following roads in the Apiti ward, and the necessary steps be taken to borrow the amount under tho Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886 :— Kiwitea Crow road as far as Hogg's gate, Peep-o'-Day road as far as the junction with the Terrace road, Terrace road as far aa Bogg's gate — Carried. Proposed by Mr Powell, seconded by Mr Morton, That the clerk write to the Chief Surveyor, asking him to make a re-survey of the 'Waituna road across the Waituna creek in the Wajtapu village as the road has been altered from the original by Mr Marchant's consent. — Carried. Resolved, That E. G. Roper and A. H. Atkinson be appointed as returning officers in taking poll for Pakihikora loan. — Carried. Resolved, That Mr Boggis' application be granted, providing a gate be erected on the top of the track, subject to the approval of the engineer, during the pleasure of the Board. Proposed by Mr Reid, seconded by Mr Taylor, That the Manchester Road Board be asked if they are willing to contribute a share of the cost of Vinegar Hill bridge, said share to be equal to amount contributed by this Board to the Onepuhi bridge— say, one-tenth of total cost. — Carried. Proposed by Mr Taylor, seconded by Mr Powell, That Perry's and Mcßeth's lines be exempted from the ranger's duty, as the settlers on these roads are in danger of having their fences destroyed by fire, as they are nearly all timber fences.— Carried. A motion was proposed by Mr Taylor, and seconded by Mr Homer, to the effect that the engineer be instructed to call for tenders for bridle track, according to Government plans, through Buchanan and Levett's run, but was negatived. Resolved, That the tender of Schlapski for unscreened metal, at 2s 6d, be ac« cepted; the amount to be expended not to exceed 4?70. Accounts amounting to £470 16s Id were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned.
