The Wool Market.
(PEB PEEBB ASSOCIATION). Auckland, Deoember 8. The first wool sale of the season was held to-day, when 4365 bales were offered and 4000 sold. There was a large attendance of buyers, representing sot only local, but Southern and Australian firms as well. Competition was keen and brisk up to a certain limit, and this limit in many cases was beyond that obtained last year. This was particularly noticeable in cross-breds and long-wools, which avoraced ?d per lb higher. Merinos were somewhat at a discount, and there was no marked advance in higher quali* ties of wool,
The New Zealand Land Association, Limited, has received ths following cable message from London, dated 12th inst : — Wheat and flour— Market Bteady ; quotations unohanged since last telegram. Butter— Market dull. New Zealand fine qualities worth 100s to 112s per cwt.
