Pohangina Notes

[>BOM OUft OWN COBBESJONDBNT.] Since the elections things have resumed their normal condition in our sweet valley. The creamery is doing very well, putting through about 300 gallons of milk daily. The separators give every satisfaction. Dairy farmers who live within a convenient distance, are sending in their milk by means of four-wheeled hand carts, capable of carrying six tins, and find them a great convenience. Mr Darling, who is managing the yard of cows for Mr Hopkins, is giving satisfaction. Mr Darling had much experience in this work in England, and it is standing him in good stead now. The grass crop is looking very well, and the hay returns should be good ; potatoes also promise well. Shearing is being done in rather an intermittent Btjje, owing to the changeable character of the weather, but still the wool is being dipped, baled, and carted away. One load of wool slipped off the dray going round the Horse Shoe bend. Whether it was the bad road or the bad lashing I am »ot prepared to say, but it was " no end of a job " to load it up again, The township of Pohangina is still booming.
