Stock Markets
Messrs Lowea and lorns held their regular fortnightly Bale of Btock last Wednesday at their Mastertoa yards. The entries were small and showed a decline in prices upon previous rates. There was an unsatisfied demand for sheep, but a determination on the part of buyers to lower rates. All stock was sold at following prices :— Sheep— i- tooth wethers very forward, 8s lOd ; forward ewes, 7s 6d ; 2 and 4tooth wethers, 7s to 8s ; good ewes and lambs privately at 10s. Cattle— Dairy cows, 65s to J£6 ; store cows, 70s to 72s 6d ; 2 year steers, 02s 6d. A polled Angus bull aged found a pur« chaser at £12. Pigs— The demand for pigs was not so active. Weaners, 7s to 8s 6d ; slips "sows" up to 20s. Horses— As usual very dull
