The Mayoral Election
Notwithstanding the excitement of yesterday consequent upon the general election, and the counter attractions to-day of the races, the contest for the Mayoralty evoked considerable interest. Am soon as the poll was opened at the Borough Council office, the ratepayers began to record their votes for the candidate of their choice, and from what we already know of the active canvas which has taken place we are inclined to think that the numbers of votes polled will exceed those of any other similar occasion.
