Wesleyan District Meeting

The above meeting was held at Palmerston last Thursday. The Bey Win, Keall occupied the chair. Church Properties— The District Secretary's annual report on church property for the .year ending 80th September : — Rangitikei Circuit : New church erected at Marton, to Beat 222, cost £722, debt to loan fund £220. Debts Reduced -Hawera circuit, £80 ; Aratuoho, £15 ; Bunny thorpe church, £66 ; Palmerston Property debt, £660. Tbe report showed that an acre of land had been given by Mr J. H. Dillon, of Palmerston, at Apiti. New Buildings Anticipated—Permission given to the Sandon and Feilding circuit to erect new church at Feilding, tocoßt £250; also to the Kiwitea Mis* sion to erect church at Apiti to cost about £120, to seat about 100. Home Mission Affairs— The following were reported as received from circuits : -New Plymouth, £20 ; Waitara, £10 10s; Hawera, £12 10s ; Opunake, £5 ; Wan. ganni, £25 ; Rangitikei, £10 ; Sandon, £15 ; Palmerston, £22 ; West Coast, amount not reported ; Eiwitea, £1 ; total, Ll2l. From circuits and from Grey Institute, LlO 10 ; Kai lwi, L 110; total, Ll2O 10s from trusts, making a total of L 241 10s. Estimated Income for 1894 — New Plymouth, L2O; Waitara, LlO 10s; Hawera, LlO ; Opunake, L 5 ; Stratford, L 2 10s.; Wanganui, L 25 ; Sandon, Lls ; Palmerston North, L2O ; West Coast, L2O; Kiwitea, LI 10s ; Rangitikei, L 1 0; from Grey Institute, L 100; Kai lwi, Lls. Total, L 254 10s. Estimated Expenditure for 1894 — Maori Missions; L 260 ; Horsekeep. L 2 5; Kiwitea Mission L3O ; Stratford LSO ; Hawera, L6O; Opunake, L 80; Sandon, for second preacher, LSO. Total, L 505. For the Home Mission Fond L 56 was reported. The Bey C. H. Garland read the statistical returns, which showed that there was a decided advance in every circuit. There has been an increaie of 41 in churoh members, and 412 in attendants on public worship. It was resolved to express sympathy with the efforts made for the introduction of suitable religious teaobing in tbe day schools. Mr W. E. Birks and Mr A. B. Chap, pell were reoommended to Conference as candidates for the ministry,
