Drizzling rain prevailed to-day, completely spoiling the attendance at the Agricultural Show, otherwise the show promises to be a conspicious success. The entries are very much larger than those of last year. Following are the championships : — Sheep.— Leicesters, Hon. Mr Holmes, ram ; John Reid, ewe. Shropshire Down, John Reid and Sons. Lincoln, N.Z. and A. Land Company. Romney Marsh, Hon. M. Holmes. Cheviot, Hon. M. Holmes. Fat sheep, W. Patrick. CattleShorthorns, N.Z. Land Company. Polled Angus— Hon. M. Holmes, bull; Murray Roberts and Co., cow. Ayrshire—C. B. Ferguson, bull ; A. and J. McFarlane, cow.
