[Per Press Association] Auckland, November 23. The' body of a female child was found in a box under the Queen street wharf. It had apparently been three days in the water. By order of the Supreme Court at Wellington. InspcctorHickson released Meek of Palmerston North, on his paying LIOO and entering into a bond of LoO to appear at the Court at Wellington. It is stated that Walker and Benn, proprietors of the Mona Vale estate of 17000 acres, three miles from Cambridge, Waikato have offered the property to the Government. It is nearly all laid down in grass. Ddnedin, November 23. It is reported that at Arrowton last night a notorious wife-beater who had just again th rushed his wife was decoyed out of his house and beaten by indignant women. Mr J". Grindley has been appointed starter for the Dunedin Jockey Club's Snrinff Meeting.
