Sir, —ln reply to your correspondent, " Country Settler," I beg to state that at the Inst meeting of the Manchester Road Board I made arrangements wiih Mr Bray, Engineer, to have a protection fence erected at the place mentioned in " Country Settler's " letter, but up to the present time there are only the posts ; on the ground. 1 have also instructed the roadman to proceed with the erection of tho fence as soon as the remainder of the timber arrives.
