There is serious trouble in the ranks of the Radioals in consequence ot the action of Lord Herschell in snubbing the Radical deputation which waited upon him in regard to the appointment of oountry Magistrates. The Times demands that the Bank of England should explain the persistent reports that are afloat regarding the irregular investment of funds in rotten companies. In the House of Commons, Mr Buxton, Under-Secretary for the Colonies, said tbe Government would not forget Lobenguela's chivalry towards the missionaries whom he conducted safely to Tati during the recent hostilities Mr C J Stewart, official receiver, is convening a meeting of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company. The secured colonial creditors will have the right of being represented at the meeting by proxy. Calcutta, Notember 17. Sir Mortimer Durand, British Com missioner, has held 'a final and public reception at a Durbar with the Ameer.
