FEILDING v. HALCOMBE. The Cup match between the above teams was played on the Feilding ground on Saturday, despite the drizzling rain which fell during the afternoon, and resulted in a win for the latter by 42 runs on the first innings. The teams were cap* tamed by Messrs Tompkins (Halcombe) and Hill (Feilding). Refreshments were provided by Mosdames Hill and Letbbridge and others. Owing to pressure on our space, we are unable to give a long account of the game. Following are the scores: — Halcombe.

Bowling analysis — First innings: Strachan, 5 overs, 1 maiden, 3 wickets, 5 runs. Lance, 9 overs, 2 maiden, 3 wickets, 12 runs, Hunter, 5 overs, 1 maiden, 2 wickets, 17 runs. Second innings : Lance, 14 overs, 1 maiden, 2 wickets, 26 runs. Strachan, 14 overs, 1 maiden, 2 wickets, 25 runs. The Sandon team journeyed to Marton on Saturday, but the latter eleven not bein£ on the ground at the appointed time, Sandon claimed the match. The Colyton and Palmerston teams met on the latter's ground ou Saturday, but after three hours' play the rain came on 60 heavily that stumps had to be drawn. The Palmerston men, who were first to bat, had put together 146 runs for the loss of seven wickets when play was abandoned.
