The Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Show.

• The eighth annual Show of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and ?. Association was held at Palraerston yesterday, and another grand success has to be recorded. Visitors came in swarms from near and afar, and in the afternoon the attendance must hare reached fully 12,000. The arrangements were all that could be desired; the Stewards did their work well and efficiently; the Secretary, Mr C. C. Miles, was the right man in the right place ; and everything was got off with a precision which reflected the highest credit on the officials of the Club. The weather was fine till late in the afternoon, when showers of rain occurred, which had the effect of sending droves from the ground in double-quick time. The Show of 1893 will be the subject of laudatory comment till tbe ninth fixture of the Association. Messrs Reid and Gray, of Dunedin, were well represented this year. They exhibited medium double-fur-row ploughs with swivel coulters, single and double-furrow ploughs with patent lifting lever, one set of 3leaf zig zag harrows, aNo 9 improved grain, turnip and manure drill, No 3 corncrusher, cLaffcutters Nob 4 and 2£, and samples of patent point shears and. binder twine. Messrs Booth, McDonald and Co also exhibited one of McLaren's traction engines, which is a six horse power capable of travelling along the roads at a speed of six miles an hour. A great deal of attention was centied in one of Maesey- Harris and Co's reapers and binders, which was driven by a steam engine on the ground. The machinery went very smoothly and was the subject of much favorable comment. Mr David Reid, of Makino, exhibited empreumatic balsam, for the cure of stomach and intestinal diseases in sheep, horses, and cattle. Mr F. Flayall, of Feilding, exhibited a folding sawing machine, of American nanufacture, which is certainly a ve^y useful invention. The United Farmers' Alliance had a very extensive display of farming and other implements, which could not fail to attract the notice of settlers. In a building erected for the purpose, the Manawatu Farmers' Co-op-erative Association had a splendid display of exhibits. Messrs Hosting and Son had on exhibition a fine collection of ranges and stoves manufactured at their foundry in Main street Palmerston N. Mr D. Murray, of Wangantii, had one of his wool presses on exhibition, which was also a source of attraction. Following is the prize list :— CATTLK. (Judge— Mr A. Hardy.)
