At Riccarton this morning, Response galloped two miles, finishing fast ; Rose* feldt and Ua went a mile and a half; Skirmisher and Dilemma and Vogengang and Au Revoir left six furlongs behind in fast time ; Prime Warden, who is looking very highly trained, did useful work. Latest betting on the Cup— s to 1 agst Response, Dilemma, and Prime Warden, 12 to 1 Beadonwell, 80 to 1 the others. The fields will be large for all the races. The course is! in good order. At a meeting of the Stewards of the Canterbury Jockey Club, it was resolved that Mr D. O'Brien's Loyalty be not disqualified for the First Challenge Stakes. Major George's protest is dismissed.
