Ffbom odb own cobbkspondbntJ The members of the Excelsior Lodge, No. 15, held their usual weekly meeting on Thursday evening last, when the officers for the ensuing quarter were elected. Through the unavoidable absence of the Lodge Deputy, the ceremony of installation had to be postponed till next meeting. A committee was appointed to draw up a syllabus for the next quarter. Tbe item for next meeting will be a singing competition, selections to be taken from Sankey's hymn books. -The new addition to the butter factory, of a cool chamber, is nearly completed. This will be a great convenience to Mr. Corpe. .... The quantity of milk received is largely increasing, and the dairyists seem to be highly satisfied with the financial results from the sale of their milk. Mr W. S. Potter, jubilee agent, delivered his lecture on Primitive Methodist Missions, in the Temperance Hall, on "Wednesday last. He proved himself to be a very capable speaker. His lecture was illustrated by lantern views of New Zealand, moat of which were highly appreciated by the audience. The Nga Riroriro Band, accompanied by Staff Captain floldaway, from Wanganui, held a very pleasant meeting in the Hall on Friday. The audience was very large, and the seating accommodation was insufficient. The band consisted of five Europeans and two Maoris. Various selections were played very skilfully, addresses given, and some stereoptical views were exhibited.
