ANOTHER BATTLE IMMINENT. (per press association.) Capetown, November <&. During tbo advance of the Company's forces Captain Forbes shelled Odandara's kraal. The chief himself was killed, and a thousand of his followers fled. Barnett, who lost his life in the previous engagement, was shot bj a prisoner, but the latter did not long survive, as he and another were soon afterwards shot by Maurice Gifford. Cnptain Williams, who is missing, is a son of General Owen Williams. It is believed that he has been taken prisoner. His horse was wounded and bolted into the bush. Lobeneula has returned to the vicinity of Bulutrayo, and another battle is imminent. November 5. Mr Cecil Rhodes states that many bands of natives are coming in and asking for protection. Lobengula has abandoned any hope of escaping across the Zambesi. London, i* overuber 3. The Daily Ohroniolo hopes the Imperial Government will protect the remnant of the Matnbeles, Mr Buxton, UndeV Secretary for the Colonies, replying to a question, said the Colonial Office did not consider the demand inflicted on the Matubules excessive.
