«, The usual monthly meeting of the abore was held yesterday. Present — Messrs I Snelson (Chairman), Park, Ravenbill, Saxon, Taylor, Ransonie, Pnrkiss and Goodbehere. Mr Goodbehere handed in a cheque for ±12, being balance of receipts from bazaar conducted by the ladies of Feilding. — Donation received and a letter of thanks ordered to be forwarded to the ladies who had assisted at the bazaar. From Dr Porter, accepting the position of surgeon to the Hospital. From Sister Marj Joseph Anbert, offering to take charge of and maintain Nellie Hildred, who had been recently in the Wanganui Hospital, and was likely to be an invalid for many years, She would take charge of the girl for the sum of Is per day. From Wanganui Charitable Aid Board, declining to refund the sum of £100 Is 7J paid by the Palmerston Board in settlement of accounts between the two dis« tricts. ment of a third nurse, also a cook and housemaid. The Secretary reported that he bad asked DrMcgregor to include the Kiwitea and the Pohangina rating district*, but he had replied that it was jwpossible to include the latter until 1895. The apportionment had been made in 1892, and could not be altered until 1895. Under the Amending Act to be introduced this system would be altered, Mr Goodbehere suggested that the rat* ins districts should have one representative, and that Foxton and Fitzuerbert should be grouped. It was decided that the election for representatives to the Board He held in Feilding. and that Mr C. Bray be the Returning Officer for the grouped dig. tricts, and Mr G. C. Hill act iv a similar capacity for the Borough. On the motion of Mr Taylor, seconded by Mr Saxon, it was decided to increase the wages at present paid to the enretaker to 35s per week, on condition that he undertakes to c^rry out any duties required of him by the matron. The chairman said the patent bedsteads, ordered from England; had by mistake been forwarded by a sailing vessel, and they would not arrive until after Christmas. This was unfortunate, as the bedsteads had been ordered to be forwarded by direct steamer, and the goods were shipped in August, He suggested that bedsteads be hired until the arrival of the patent bedsteads. The Board then adjourned.
