CJ.C. MEETING.

Christchubcii, November 1. Very little fast work was witnessed at Riccarton this morning. Clanranald and Beadonwell did a mile and a half, the former finishing in front, and good time being registered. Lady Zetland and Vogengang went six furlongs fast, as did Addington and My Jack. Response went in taking style two miles at half pace Prime Warden merely trotted and cantered. St Katherine was scratched this morn* for the New Zealand Cup. Clanranald went wrong after hia work, and is a very unlikely starter for the Cup. The price against him on offer tonight is 100 to 2, without takers. Bea« donwell is well backed at 100 to 12. Dilemma, Skirmisher, and the 2-year* old Ambush arrived from Dnnedin to-day. Skirmisher is a non starter for the Cup.
