Primitive Methodists' Jubilee

The presont year being tho Jubilee of Priroitifo Methodism in New Zealand, tho Rev W. b. Potter, of Auckland, has been commissioned to conduct jubilee services throughout tho colour, and with that object he displayed a number of lantern pictures in the Methodist chapel, Feildmff, last evening, illustrative of New Zealand life in the earl/ days and at the present time. The life of the late Rev Robert Ward, the pioneer Primitive Methodist Missionary, was made the subject of the address, and the pictures shown tended to demonstrate the sterling qualities of that gentleman. The attendance was not so largo as the occasion deserved, as the views are numerous, and Mr Potter a fluent spoaker, who describes the pictures lucidly as they are presented, he also relates striking incidents in the life of the late Mr Ward. At the conclusion of the address Mr J. C. Thompson proposed, and Mr Adams seconded, a hoartj vote of thanks, which was carried by acclamation to Mr Potter for his able address. M r J. Gould occupied tho chair. This evening the lecture will be given in Campbelltowu and to-morrow at Colyton. On Sunday next Mr Potter will conduct services in the Foildinß church, morning, aftornoon (at 3 p.m.), and evening.
