Melbourne. October 31. At Flinington this morning, Portsea covered two miles in 3min 41$ sec. Tarcoola beat this time by half a second, and is regarded as the best outsider in the Cup. Trenchant bounded over a mile and a qumter in beautiful style in 2min 18sec. Light Artillery, who is again quite sound, w s sent the Derb? distance, which he coin)leted in 2m in sO£stc. At Epsom. Camoola traversed two miles in 3rain 40{sec. Mulvolio finished badly at the end of a two-mile gallop at Caulfield, where Sternch is rind Jo lnainu put in sterling work over the same distance.
