•» __ (FBK PBESB ASSOCIATION.) Capetown, October 26. A battle; was expected to be fought today in the vicinity of Shangain River between the Chartered Company's forces and the Matabeles. It is reported that Major Tendy has been killed in a skirmish with the natives. The Chartered Company will protest against Hir H. Loch parleying with Lobengula without first consulting Mr Cecil Rhodes. The company's officers declare that the account Riven by an eye- witness of atrocties alleged to have been committed on the Matabeles b> the Fort Victoria column in September is a calumny. Sir H. Loch is making hill enquiries into the truth of the accusutious contained in the statement. Sir Hrnry Loch is pushing forward rein forcementa to Mashonaland.
