The Pacific Cable
(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Bbisbane, October 25. The Premier, Sir T. Mcllwraith, in replying to a despatch from Lord Itipon concerning the New Caledonia cable, expressesn the opinio that if the Imperial Government had listened to the protests of the Australasian Colonies, French criminals would never have been deported to Noumea, and hence there would have been no necessity for France to construct a cable to connect NewCaledonin and Australia.
