Messrs Edwards and Mcßeath report wages for past week as follows : — Married couples, £70 to £90 ; carpenters, 10s ; bricklayers, 12s; blacksmiths. 9s to 10s ; painters and glaziers, 10s ; plumbers and gasfitters, 9s to 10s ; storemon, 42s to 60s; drajmen. 42s to 50s; coachmen, SOa to 35s ; grooms, 2os to 35s ; gardeners, 6s to 8s ; farm bands, 15s to 25s ; milkmen, 25s to 27a ; hotel-men, 20a to 4Qj ; barmaids, 25g to 30s ; waitresses, 15s to 20s ; cooks, 25s to 40s ; female do, 25s to 355; housemaids, 12s to 20*; general servants, 10s to 14s ; nurse girls and boys, 7s to 15s. The demand is not to good as l»st week.
