Demonstration Day
TPer Press Association.] Wellington, This Day. Although the proclamation of a Government holiday on Demonstration Day is not generally observed as a general holiday, numbers of the shops are shut besides those usually closed on Wednesday, but work went on at tho wharves and other places as usual. The day is fine, but windy, The procession was not so large or so effective as in former years, and the crowd attending it was of small proportions. Sports are now gomg on in the Basin Reserve.
