THE CARCOAR TRAGEDY. GLASSON SENTENCED TO DEATH. (Per Press (Association.) Sydney. October 22. Glasson has been sentenced to death for the murder of Mr Phillips and Miss Cavanagh in an attempted bank robbery at Carcoar. The prisouer protested his innocence to the last, and was much affected by the sentence. There has been but little business transacted in wcol during the week, owing to the recent deadlock. The current prices are — greasy crossbred, 6^d to9d ; scoured 10. jd to Is sd, according to quality. j The Council ot New South Wales Rifle Association upheld the protest against the Petonc Rifle Club, winners of the Champion Teams Match, and disqualified them, and pursued a similar course against them and the Auckland Kid- Club in the Rifle Clubs 1 Match. The meeting has now concluded. This Day. Amougthe concessions made by the Engineers is one which will have the effect >>f considerably reducing wages. Adelaide, This Day. M. W. Green, ex N Z. Legislator, was thrown from his tnc.ycle and received severe injuries, He is in a critical condition.
