(PEB PBEBB ASSOCIATION). Wellington, October 18. The Liberal Association have decided to support Sir K. Stout, and Messrs T. H. Fraser, and T. K. Mac Donald for Wellington. Only 33 members ot. the 240 membership were present. A deputation of Otaki natives waited on the Premier and urged that the date for the election of Maori members should be earlier than that of the general elections as, otherwise, many Maoris might be mduced to vote as Europeans, and thus invalidate their right to vote for tlu Native representatives The Premier who promised to consider the matter, is understood to be in sympathy with the request. It is probable that Mr Seddon will unfold the Government policy in his speech at Dunedin. . There are sereral cases of influenza on board H.M.S. Curacoa, which arrived lo*day from Sydney. She stays here about Id days, and then goes to Auckland. Dunedin, October 18. A man named George Phillips was drowned in the Molyncux at Clyde on Saturday through upsetting of a bout.
