The Residence Conditions

(FBBFBBSS ASSOCIATXOHJ Invebcabgill, October 17. An importaut decision wss given to-day by the Resident Magistrate, Mr Bawson. The Be^istrar of Electors for luvereargill asked for direction re enrolment of an individual, a farmer resident of the colony, who left for Australia five years ago and returned in March last. Mr Bawson held thut it was not necessary that the requisite twelve months should be immediately preceding the election, but that if a person ' had at any time resided for twelve months in the colony and three months in a district immediately preceding the election, he was entitled to have his name placed in the roll.
