Stock Markets

Messrs Cunningham, Badham and Co.'s Wellington weekly horse sale report . — Our sale to-day was one of the most unsatisfactory we have ever held. The number entered was small, and with one exception they were all very old or unsound animals, and the result was that not a single beast changed hands. There is still an enquiry for good, sound, young, reliable horses, but we must point out to our clients that when they send forward unsound animals with high reserves, it is impossible for us to dispose of them. As no horses changed hands we cannot quote. Messrs Budge and Good report:— At Kaponga on tho 6th instant there was a large entry of dairy stock, which did not sell sofreel? as usual, but in other classes anything of fair quality sold readily at the hammer. At the Manaia fortnightly sale on the 10th the yards were well tilled with both sheep and cattle. Sheep were dull of sale, but the bidding was brisk for aii classes ot steers of good quality, also for springing heifers or good dairy cows.
