Messrs Gorton and Son's report. — We held during the lust week three stock sales— at Sandon, Huntcrrille. and Bulls. We had good entries «t all the sales. The bidding was not so brisk as at previous sales, but we nin ringed to quit most of the stock, though the rates, excepting for beef, were certainly a little iewer. Our quotations are: — CATTLE. Sandoc— Springing heifers, L 4 13s ; 2-year steers, L 3 4s ; 18-nios to 2yr heifers, L 3 4s ; mixed yearlings, L 2 to L 2 Is; milkers, L 5 3« 6d. I Hunterrille.— Forward 2 yr steers, L 4 18s (id ; forward 2-yenr heifers, L4ls ; 18-mts steers, L 2 ss; 2V»jr steers, L 3 17s 6d; 2»yr trteer.*, Li; yr to 18-mts, L22sto L 2 15s ; cows, hi 4s 6d to L 5; 2.> to3-vr heifers, L 3 15 Bulls. — Fat cows, small, L 5 19s 6d ; springing heifer*. Li ss ; 3-yr heifers, L 3 los; cows, L 2 10s to L 3 10s ; 18---mts heifers, L 2 14s ; yearling heifers, 375 ; weanere, 295. SIIEFP. Sandon. — Ewes and Innibs 12s to 13s Od ; fat and forward ewes, 10s 2d to 12s 2d ; hoggets, various prices, from 7s 6d to lls lid. Hunterrille.— 2 and 4th wethers, 13s 3d ; hoggets, 9« 7d ; old ewes, with few liintlx, n nd rmpties, 6s. Bulls. — Fat ewes, 12s JOd ; hogget*, i-.-irii.us prices, from lls Id to 12s 7d -, culled hoggets, 7s Id ; fat wethers, bid 15s 3d, passed at 15s 6d. Messrs Freeman K. Jackson and Co. report as follows on tlnir Johnsonvillc sale-.— We had a full jord of fat cattle for the sale yesterday. The bulk of the bullocks were large formed but nol well fattened. Sheep were in usual numbers, and sold at cquai to last sale's rates. Pigs went in favor of »he vendors. We quote.— Cattle.— Bullocks, L 8 2s 6d to L 9 12« b'd ; smaller cattle. L 7 5s to LI 15s, equal to from 20s to 21s the lOOlbs. Sheep. — Fat heavy ewes, 17s 7d to 18s Id ; others, 12s 8d ; weiliers. Us 8d to 16s ; lambs, os 6d to 8s 6d. Pigs.— Stores, 16s 9d to 17s 3d ; sui«ll pigs, 8s to 10s. Messrs Tennent and Simpson report having held their monthly stock sate at the market Square Yards, Marton, on Friday, 6th October. Cattle — Only a few dairy cows came forward and sold up to £o 10s. Sheep made a Tory large entry, over 4000 being yarded. There was a good attendance, tut bidding was not so spirited as a fortnight ajjo, and several lines were passed under the hammer but we cleared all forward, with the exception of one pen, at the following prices ; — Forward wethers. 13s 6d ; fat ewes, shorn, 10s 3d ; ewes with lambs, lls 6d; hoggets, lls to 12s.
