Campbelltown notes

. — _♦_ . Tfroh ouk owir cobbkppokdeotJ. About four thousand gallons of milk were put through the separators at Mr Corpe'B factory last week, against twenty-four hundred gallons for the first week during which the factory opened. This increasing quantity of milk is very satisfactory, and in a few weeks a still larger amount is anticipated. The cream is now being churned at the factory, and the butter taken to Makino to be packed. The water used for churning purposes has to be carted from a well, situated about five chains distant from the factory. Messrs Mudford Bros, have suffered . another great loss in the sinking of the artesian for Mr Corpe. After driving to a depth of eighty feet, the bottom pipe was split. Great sympathy is felt for them, as the first attempt failed after reaching 180 feet. They estimate their losses in the two wells at about £80. Through the non-suppliance of water, Mr Corpe has been put to many inconveniences, as the butter has to be taken away to the Makino Factory to be made up. Another runaway occurred a morning or two ago at the factory. As one of the drivers was placing his cans in a convenient position in the cart, the horse bolted and he was thrown out, the wheel passing over his leg. He escaped with only a slight bruise, and the horse was eventually stopped before any further damage was done.
