(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland. October 6 It is stated that a large number of Maoris and half-castes in the Waipa electorate are registering on the European roll. Mr J. C. Firth denies that he is a candidate for Parliamentary honours. Chbistchu ecu. Qctober 6. A ballot taken by the Liberal Association at Kaiapoi, Bangiora and Oxford for the purpose of selecting a candidate for Kaiapoi, resulted in favour of Mr C. Budds, a farmer at Fernside. A few names had been submitted. Mr D. Macfarlaue, a candidate for the Ashley electorate, addressed a meeting at Waiau last night, and declared himself opposed to the Government.
