The Egmont Farmers' Union report as follows : — At our Stratford sale on 'he 29th ult. the yards were well tilled with n useful class of cattle. We quote : Cows and heifers in calf, L39sto Lt 15s ; 12 to 18---month cattle. L 2 7s 6d to L 3 19s ; wean crs, L 2 7s fid. On Saturday. 30th ult , our monthly Horse Fair, falling on our anniversary day, together with the opening of our new horse bazaar, induced a large number of buyers, and also sellers. We quote: — Trap horses, LG 15s to L 2 4; backs, L 4 10s to Ll3 10s. At Hawera on the 4th insf. oar entries were not so large as usual, although fully the advertised number were brought forward. Every pen was disposed of at the hammer, or immediately after, with the exception of two lots of cattle and one lot of sheep.
