Before District Judge Kettle. j At the sitting of the above Court yes* terday, the case of A. McGlashan v E. T. Eager, claim £200 for alleged breach of agreement in connection with the sale of a bakery business at Levin, the jury awarded a verdict of £120 against the defendant. IN BANKRUPTCY. Re John Eobert Lever, application for discharge.— Mr Prior for debtor.— After a short examination, His Honor said debtor should make an effort to pay his creditors a small amount in tho £. He would make a conditional order whereby debtor would pay his bouse uud trade creditors 2s 6d in the £; to apply to proved creditors only. Re Frank Gay, application for discharge,—Mr Itoade for debtor, and Mr Hankins for creditors. — I here was no appearance of debtor, and the application was struck out. — Mr Reade was allowed £2 2s costs. Re Stephen Hayes, public examination. — Messrs Hankins end Reidp appeared on behalf of certain creditors to examine debtor. — There was no appearance of debtor and an adjournment of tho public examination was made to next sitting of the Court, debtor in the meantime to bo served with a notice to appear at that sitting. Re Frank Groves, application for discharge. — Mr Reade appeared fur debtor, who in answer to questions from His Honor said he was a married mau, and had been getting behind in his engage* ments for the past twelve months. When debtor commenced business he had stock valued at £2, and attributed his bankruptcy to illness and fulling off ot trade. His wife had no property, and the family were at present residing at Feildmg. -His Honor granted tbe older of discharge. Re Thomas M. Mitchell, application for discharge — Mr Prior for debtor asked that an order for discharge bo granted, such order not to be issued until debtor had paid the whole of the creditors 20s in the £.— The D.O.A. stated that debtor had agreed to pay his creditors in full at tbe rate of £4 per month -Jlis Honor granted the discharge on tbo conditions asked by Mr Prior. — Standard.
