Terribly Sudden Death at Beaconsfield

A SETTLER FALLS FROM HIS BED DEAD. We regret to have to chronicle the terribly sudden death, at Beaconsfield, of Mr Ethan Eyeriss, which occurred there at about 430 this morning. The deceased, with bis wife and two children, had been farming the section adjoining MrH Rutherford's for some time past, and although at times unwell, he enjoyed, on the whole, fairly good health. He was recently attended by Dr Sorley for, we understand, heart complaint. De» ceased was in town the day before jesterdny, and appeared to be in good health Early this morning, Mrs Everiss was awakened by some noise, and on turning round she saw her husband roll out of bed to the floor. Mrs Everiss, alarmed, despatched a man employed on the farm to call in Mr Rutherford— her nearest neighbour — who arrived shortly afterwards, and found deceased apparently dead. A messenger was also despatched to town for medical assistance. Deceased was a highly respectable man, and a former resident of Halcombe and Sandon, and his sudden death has caused quite a shock to those who knew him. He leaves a widow and two children to mourn their loss. Wo have not learnt whether there will be an inquest. Deceased was 48 years of age.
