A collision between Matabelle Impi and the African Chartered Company's forces is imminent. An impi of Matabeles, seven thousand strong, fired on the Chartered Company's grouts near Fort Victoria and afterwards passed in a north-easterly direction. Sir H. Loch has authorised Mr Jameson, the company's ageut, lo send a strong contiugeot to reconnoitre. Nkw Yobk, October 2. The match between the Australians and Philadelphia finished to-day, the Australians being defeated by an innings and sixty-eight runs.
