WOMEN AND CHILDREN STARVING. (PEE PHEBS ASSOCIATION}. LoNDoy, September 30. The London Trades Council is appealing for funds to assist the minors on strike. It ie stated that many thousands of women ami children are starving, their only food being raw potatoes. The coalowners have issued a manifesto offering to submit the dispute to arbitration. They state that they only desire that wagos shall follow prices. The Miners 1 Federation has refused to interview the masters, but decided to allow its members to resume work at the aid rate of wages, the men doing co to pay a shilling a day to tho slriko fund. It is expected that Jifty thousaud uiou will at onoe return to work.
